My first post here, so hello everyone! :)

I have searched, but couldn't find many opinions or reviews of the ARDU-FLEX 7001 system. Has anyone here used it? Seems like a good alternative to ripping up floor, and putting down ply or ply and backer board.

What I'm planning to do is to tile two small bathroom floors (1.8 x 0.8m and 1.5 x 1.5m). House was built around 1985. Floor is wooden tongue and groove boards in very good condition, no movement or even creaking at all. I will be using ceramic tiles 5mm thick 300 x 300. I am tempted to use the ARDU-FLEX and tile straight on floor boards but I don't want to make a costly mistake.

Regards

Radek

I use BAL so no experience with Ardu-flex but tictic may be able to help if he’s watching. Personally I would never tile directly over T&G no matter what the adhesive manufacturer says but looking at the spec sheet, it’s for sheet board materials which doesn't include 4/5” T&G floor boards. Too risky for my liking & you’d do better to overboard with either 12mm ply or, as rooms are small/low load, you should easily get away with a 6mm backer board but it depends on your joist size/pitch/span.

You sure you got that 5mm thickness right? That’s pretty thin for floor tiles, are they recommended for floor use? You need/should have 100% adhesive coverage under floor tiles so, in theory, it shouldn’t be a problem but if the floor isn’t absolutely rigid or you get voids in the adhesive bed, there go your tiles!
