Hi,

I have put down laminate and now before i put the skirting back on i want to sand it down and repaint it. I want it to match the doors, and the rest of the house but im not sure what was used previously.

I dont think it is gloss, and i went and bought matt, but before i open it i looked again, and maybe its not, maybe its silk or something. How can i tell?

I could take a photo and add it if that will help, but photos can be decieving cant they.

thanks. You can certainly get matt for wood as thats what i bought yesterday. But perhaps its not used very often.

If i was starting fresh i would go ahead and use satinwood, but i dont want to use that (or matt) and find that it doesnt match very well with everything else.

I'll go take some photos.

ok here are two photos of the same part. One with the light glancing off it and the other at a different angle.

In reality to the eye, I would say the reflection of the surface is more like the second image, but its not without any reflection at all.

hope that helps[/img]

I would have said that's gloss as the sheen in the first photo is quite high - perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge could advise.

yeah i would say that if i saw the photo too, but to the eye its nowhere near that glossy and not the same as gloss i have seen before.
