I want to use one so I can switch from black exterior cable (where it comes in through a wall), to white for internal use. Ideally I want rear entry for the black cable, side entry for the white one. I can't find anything online that does this, all the junction boxes I've found are side entry only and too compact internally for me to convert with a drill.

Are there any white Cat6 junction boxes with rear cable entry?

You could use a slim '1-gang surface pattess back box' and then either have a:
CAT6 faceplate and white patch cable.
Or,
Blanking plate on front, and the CAT6 connector stuffed inside!
