Hi

I recently moved into a new (old) house. I finished stripping the paper in a first floor bedroom and before redecorating I wanted to check out the cracks that were beneath the wallpaper. The room is from a 1970s extension. The main part of the house is late 1700s. So this wall is the one which would have origianlly been external and has since been replastered when extended.

It looks like the cracks were repaired a LONG time ago and nothing has come of them since, so I'm hoping all is good but thought best to check.

Elsewhere, there are quite a few other cracks. Here's some examples of the worst ones, the first being on the gable end wall which sees a lot of nasty weather...

If they are not moving further then no, if they are getting worse year by year then yes. All old houses move a little throughout the seasons.
