Are these self drilling masonry screws best for old plaster?

Are these the best for getting a fixing through crumbly plaster? They are long and go through the plaster into brickwork. Self drilling, no plugs

I'm always a bit leary about using self drilling stuff into old masonry. Victorian brick in particular is very variable quality and it can take a bit of experimentation to find a solution that works. Have you actually tried them?
 
The condition of plaster is not important . It’s whats behind it that counts.
 
These are not self drilling, They are just bolts that dont need plugs in the wall first. The drill size is actually quite important to avoid snapping the bolt or it not gripping at all. Look at the back of the packet, it even says 6mm drill.
