When the central heating is switched on should the gas burner be lit constantly, even in mild weather, as I am experiencing high gas bills!

What controls are we talking about? I do have the central heating on high and the water heater on high too. The problem is that it keeps on boiling even after the water temperature appears to have gotten to the required temperature. How can I remedy this?

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Yours needs fixing.

The flames should go on and off, even if the heating's on 24/7.
Boiling - could be lots of things depending on duration etc.

I kind of thought that might be the case!! I was looking for ideas of what might ne the problem really, so my I could try to fix it. I don't have a manual, can you advise where I can get one from please?
