Hi My boiler has a very high pressure and when I take the cover off and release the pressure and set it to normal after a short while it reverts back to a high pressure, it is venting water from the external safety pipe,
I have made sure the fill pipe valves are closing properly.
apart from that the boiler seems to be working ok.
any help would be gratefully accepted.

Have you taken off the plastic valve levers? Sometimes you find the plastic is of such poor quality that the valve appears off but the brass spindle underneath is still on.

Otherwise you need to disconnect the "loop" ie the flexible hose between the valves since it is likely the valves are not shutting off properly. The hose should always be disconnected after filling but Ariston (and others) ignore water regulations and don't make this easy for users.

If the pressure still rises with the loop disconnected you probably need a new plate heat exchanger (very rare though).

You may need to replace the safety valve since they don't tend to seal once opened.

Thank you very much for your advise, I will double check these asap and let you know the outcome regards Col
