I wonder how much these cost the MOD to buy in. Looks like they are virtually giving away their old stock

You can't buy a domestic one for that , i'd buy them all at that price, doubt one would look that good in the Mrs's hair salon though

It also goes to show how manufactors rip off the MOD by charging higher prices to supply just because they know they can get away with it

Companies will charge what people are prepared to pay. And the government buyers are quite happy to waste our money

Granted that is true, all hail the free market and all that but some companies just take the mick. A friend works in automotive pressings and a while ago was producing spare wheel hangers for lorries supplied painted black. The very same hanger supplied to the mod in green was twice the price.
Recently I was working at a mod barracks, to change a single light bulb cost the mod £60 for instance and other prices were also well over the top.
Then add to that selling surplus stuff off at bargin prices, think Harriers if you want a good example and the scale of the waste goes beyond obscene.
