A couple of months ago I helped my dad in his new home take down a stud partition wall. I think it was put in around 1970-1980 and I thought it was made from plasterboard. However I recently learned that asbestos insulation board looks the same as plasterboard and was also used for partition Walls ( in my case a kitchen built upstairs). I can't really remember what it looked like but my dad has told me it said "gypsum" on the back side when he was ripping it down and I was bagging it up. I can't find any information about plasterboard but does it normally have words written on the back of it?

Thanks

Does any one know? If it said "gypsum" on the back it must be safe right and has anyone seen plasterboard with markings on the back?
