Asbestos?

Hi,

Ive currently got a leak in my cold water tank and had a plumber out to have a look. He said he cant do anything at the minute as it is surrounded by asbestos boards. I have spoken to an asbestos removal company who say it looks like it may not be. Does anyone have any suggestions please before I have it tested?

Discard and have new plastic tank installed.

looks like it is old Strammet Board to me, Compressed Straw Board.

I don't remember Stramit board looking that soft or fibrous around the edges - get it tested (better safe than sorry esp. if it's some form of AIB)
