Assembling wastes and overflows

Hi,

When assembling waste and overflows for my new bath and basin, should the supplied rubber and faom washes be coated in anything like silicone sealant for extra protection or does it cause more problems?

Best to forget the foam washers & gunk the waste's in with silicone. also silicone on 1 side of the rubber washer that comes in contact with the basin or bath.DO NOT put silicone on both side's of robber washer or it will squeeze out of place.

Put silicone on the basin bottom nut or water will leak down the thread, if it's "that" type.
