You might find this a bit odd but a couple of what we call thunder bugs(the sort that get into glass fronted paintings etc) have penetrated my 6 month old Asus VK246h and are visible as little greyish dots, it's not a pixel problem as they moved about at first and it's not a little prog like their used to be, as they are were still visible and moving with just the monitor on.
Is insect infestation a thing that can be addressed under waranty nobody probably would notice but I do (like that crap bit of wallpapering you did).

You'd be lucky to get it returned under warranty.

Bugs in display cant be helped - the monitor requires air holes to vent the warm air from. This seasonal weather brings them and greenfly in abundance.

They usually find a way out - or die and drop to the base of the monitor.
