Hi

Im looking for advice on what timbers i would need to fit to make a solid enough floor to walk on and store stuff in. i need to know what size timber beams i would have to fit (eg 6" x 2")?

i also need to fit them i have a solid stone wall at one side and a timber beam 8" deep at the other side. my gap is approximately 2600mm x 5500mm. any advice on fit would help i was think joist hangers on the timber beam but not sure about the wall side.

Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

I am looking for advice about a possible loft conversion to a 50/60s built bungalow. The beams at the mo which would make up the floor are only 4" thick - can we add on a 2" bit of wood on top? Or is 4" sufficient? And rather than use 100 mm fibreglass can we use 50mm celotex for the same thermal value?
