Automatic air vent on Baxi duo tec

Hi gas and plumbing guys , I'm going to change my auto air vent on my boiler .
I'm almost sure what I'm doing but I have one question, would you put plumber's mate on the threads of the new vent when fitting ?

Ptfe tape or it may have a sealing washer

Personally I wouldn't put anything on it as it's got a rubber o ring I think

you wont need to turn off the water , but you will need to drain the boiler and turn off the electricity

That's just the little drain point under the boiler ? + Protect the PCB I have read

Changed it everything went well ,thanks guys . The old auto air vent was covered in black stuff but the water I drained out was totally clear ! Do I have a sludge problem do you think ?
