I have an existing internal cooker hood which just recirculates. I plan to exhaust this outside but the nearest point of exit is some distance from the cooker. I want to use an inline fan to boost the air movement and would like to know if I can control the auxiliary with the switch on the cooker hood; so both fans come on together. I'm thinking I could power the fan from a supply close to its location and switch that power with some kind of solenoid operated from the switch in the hood. Any ideas or suggestion for suitable components would be appreciated?.
