I have just had a Megaflow system installed in the house. The kitchen has a Franke 'Olympus' mixer taps fitted. The problem is that when you turn on the cold water tap you initially get cold water flowing (first couple of seconds) and then it gets warmer and warmer and then after about 30 seconds it starts to get colder and eventually you get proper cold water.

Is this a problem to do with pressure or a faulty mixer tap or something else?

Would this happen every time you turn it on? or If you turn the cold tap on let it run cold, turn it off then turn it on again after 2 or 3 minutes would it still be running cold without any warm?

If so it sounds like you have a cold pipe running over/close to a heat source. Is this possible?

Thanks for the suggestion Breesey.

I tried your suggestion and same problem exists so it could simply be that the cold water pipe is close to a hot water pipe.

Check your system and lag your pipes, especially where the cold is near a heat source.
