I'm looking to get a NAS drive... any of you use them? what's an optimum size? 3TB?

What do you do for off-site back-up?

There are plenty available, find one your prepared to pay for, research reviews.

Consider one that does raid & uses 2+ drives so data is mirrored for a greater chance of keeping data should something go wrong.

However, just buying some USB drives, backing it all up then putting the drives off site can work, harder to recover/change but work OK.

Will you be wanting a fireproof safe for it too?

Thanks for the response gents...

I think I don't wnat to go the cloud route for two reasons.. firstly I don't really trust it (my failing), and i don't want to pay ongoing fees...

So I have 2 external hard drives which I currently back up to, and store one at work (so off-site).

I have now bought a 3TB NAS drive which I hope will mirror my (and my family's) laptop drives... and I will do a dump to the EHD's every now and again?
