backing plate for LED downlight?

I'd be grateful of suggestions to help me installing IP-rated downlights in existing cutouts that have cosmetic damage, and the downlighter is not large enough to cover it up.

Are there any universal backing plates available that i might be able to use?

There are ‘converter plates’ available but they’re huge, they’re designed to fit say an 80mm downlight in a 160mm hole.

I would just find a slightly bigger downlight if you can, the converter plates don’t look the nicest
