Bad smell in shower room

I was wondering if anybody could offer some suggestions?( On behalf of a friend that doesn't post here)

He lives in a second floor flat that has an en suite shower room (with toilet and basin). He has lived there for over ten years (new build when he bought) without any problems.

A few weeks ago he started to notice a bad smell in there but can't quite figure out where it is coming from. The shower, basin and toilet all drain fine ie nothing is backing up and he has slung some bleach and some Rhino stuff in there anyway.

It has not improved.

Any suggestions what might be going on?
