6 months ago we moved in to our newly renovated house (every room was changed)

Just recently we noticed a terrible smell from our on-suite.

Got a plumber friend to have a look at it.
It turned out the soil pipe (internal) where the shower and basin wastes run, wasnt vented so he swapped an elbow for a branch and installed a air admitance valve above.

He also put a non-return waste on the 1 1/2" shower and basin run.

the traps appear to have water in them at all times, so he's said theres no syphonage...

has anyone any suggestions or opinions, does our drains need checking further down the line?

All comments welcome. thanks in advance...

Are you sure? If this is the case then you can rule out your plumbing as being the origin.

Put a straw in your traps and put your thumb over the end which will trap any water in the straw and you can see if the traps are retaining water. :D

thanks for your response.

tryed the straw thing and it is retaining the water...

where could the smell be coming from?

Are the waste pipes leaking?

Can you describe the smell?

Is there any ***** under the floorboards? :(
