Shall we get a bad workmanship section going, something we all see I'm sure on a weekly basis.
I'll start it off with this one, completed 3 months ago, now needs to come down and be put right.
A prime example of "Its all in the fitting"

Got to be some of the worst fitting I've ever seen. They obviously didn't have a clue what they were doing and not helping experienced double glazing fitters.

I've always said that there should be a proper qualification for fitters and not the half arsed NVQ they used to give away.

Feel for you having to put this right knowing someone got paid to do this

Dh, is that company still trading? How come you've got to see this abortion?

With me and the other service engineers working for an insurer of double glazing we see this type of work daily, I'm having issues with my laptop at the moment but I'll try and post some pics of what I come across

This poor family contacted me a few weeks ago and asked I could check over the installation of their conservatory, they had worries about the roof structure and wouldn't let the kids play inside! Finally got to see it this week
The installer is no longer answering his phone as money was held back until completion, they're now wanting it finished, he's done a vanishing act. The whole lot needs to come down and start again.
Other things not included in the pics....
Vertical tie bar glued to ridge not bolted
Wall plate not fixed to wall
Sills or windows not fixed down into base, whole lot can be pushed out!
Wall plate not sealed behind the flashband
Doors not toe n healed, see daylight through top of door
Used facia cappit straight on top of blockwork for window board, like a roller coaster.
Extra roof glass left on site, some had to be remade and got the sizes wrong.
I feel for them as they've paid a lot out already (not sure what they paid) I'll quote for a refit so it's done properly, but refuse to just finish the odd bit here and there. The doors and some vents don't open due to the frames being out of level. It really is bad!
