badly designed tv/satellite faceplate?

BTW if you throw away the clamps & solder the cable direct you will have a much better connection.

At work we used F plug plates that just had an F socket on the back no PCB. Like a through connector. The idea was you crimped on an F plug and there was no bend or stress in the cable as you could feed it round in the back box. These worked well and on the front of the place we used a screw in f plug to coax converter and just slightley over tightened it with plyers so it could not be removed. Worked really well. At the other end (there was about 20 drops) we just used the same method but crimped on f plugs and these just went direct to the amps as all the good qualtity kit uses f plugs. Hard to explain might see if I have a photo lying around.

We also found the MK screened stuff to work really well as it was designed to go into a 42mm back boxs and there was never any snag on the cable.
