Hiya, read a lot about megaflo baffles disintegrating, anyone seen this on a Range Tribune unvented cylinder? Getting a lot of white stuff trapped in the mesh filters from the hot only. Thanks!

I have just been to exactly the same issue , all hot outlets blocked mesh filter; previous engineer just replaced the combination valve, I believe it’s the baffle inside breaking up and causing it to scale - new cylinder needed

Cold outlets all fine just the hot

Replace with a OSO, no baffle, and the air bubble seems to last just as long as the baffled ones, you can also remove the dip tube and install a expansion vessel if a increase (~ 20%) in capacity is ever required.

Certainly looks the same as the megaflops's, when the baffle starts to break down, they tend to look blue'ish but I guess that's just what colour the baffle may be

This was the one I had trouble with today - what’s the baffle inside for ?

It's for expansion - Instead of an external/remote EV vessel - the internal plastic baffle traps air @ the top of the cylinder and that air then compresses & absorbs the HW expansion

The plastic disk at the top of the cylinder is the baffle
