I’ve read the archives and so many heated balancing discussions have been had. With 21 radiators and various branches known of I do wish to know the order they heat up and do wish to achieve a similar temp difference across them. Aware this is a long task with patience needed. So my question is: is there a buy or hire smart multiple (many multiple) pipe thermometer kit out there? I’m imagining clipping smart thermometers to pipes and an app showing me temps and orders. Would surely make the job a LOT easier!?!

A thermometer will tell you which radiators heat up fastest.

However, you'll need to be fast at running up the stairs.

A visual inspection of where the pipes leave the boiler and to which rooms they go to will provide you with a bit of understanding of how your heating system is layed out.

It's really only necessary to ensure a delta of @11°C between inlet and outlet of each rad, with a flow temp of @70°C from your boiler (modern combi).

Rather than the order in which they heat.

This can be done with all trvs open but lockshields closed. Open 1 lockshield bit by bit until you get 11°C delta.

Then do next rad and so on and go back round again to each rad as opening others will affect temps of those done earlier.

It’s not a combi. It’s an oil vortex pro external grant boiler. Same temp diff?

Yes would be easier however Not sure I want to take up all the floors for that! I can figure much of the downstairs by going about in bare feet on tiles!

Think I need to invent wifi smart multiple thermometer kit and an app - save the legs!
