Can anyone help / advise. I plan to build a balcony on the side of my house with a door from the bedroom, the balcony would be 5 foot wide by 12 foot long, it will not overlook any neighbours.

From information I have found it looks like I do not need planning permission, but building regs apply. Do I need to get any inspections done if I build it.

Check with your local authority. Mine stipulates that I must either:
a) submit full and detailed plans in order to receive building control approval;
or
b) give 2 days notice of starting work; in this case the BCO will define the stages at which work must pause for inspection and approval to continue.

If you need to find a tradesperson to get your job done, please try our local search below, or if you are doing it yourself you can find suppliers local to you.

Select the supplier or trade you require, enter your location to begin your search.
