Hi all,
We are renovating the bathroom totally, we currently have 100 year old wooden floorboards in the bathroom but they are weak and need replacing. We are unsure of what to use before laying a solid bamboo floor, my husband has some reservations about whether the bamboo floor will be suitable. Has anyone had any experience with it-good or bad?

Thanks in advance.

When installing laminate in bathrooms/wet rooms.
You need to check the product you are buying is suitable for that purpose.
Some Bamboo laminates won't be.
So what I recommend is whilst your out shopping or searching internet for the product, is check it is suitable for the room.
This will be indicated on the box if you are in store and should be mentioned in the spec if browsing the internet.

The OP is talking about Solid Bamboo, not laminate (plastic melamine).

Bamboo can be suitable, but often comes in narrow and short boards so needs to be fully bonded to a suitable subfloor (plywood).

Cheers to you both for the replies,
Have got sample from "simply bamboo" on the net looks decent stuff and states it's suitable for bathrooms.
WoodYouLike do you reckon we need a marine ply as sub floor or would 18mm ply be ok?
