Hi,

I have some real wood bamboo flooring to fit in my living room using self adhesive underlay. Could someone please offer some advice on the following questions;

(a) The guy at the store where I bought the self adhesive underlay said I didn't need to use a damp proof membrane. On the instructions it says for a concrete floor I should use a damp proof membrane (0.2mm). When I have laid laminate in the past I have used an underlay with a DPM built in but I don't know if this material has. I guess it wouldn't be a disaster o just fit one anyway under the self adhesive stuff. Any comments?

(b) What is the best type of jigsaw blade to make a length wise cut of the flooring? Is it best to cut face up or face down? I want to try and get the best finish i can.

Thanks in advance

Russell.

That guy knowns nothing about the product he's selling you! Do use a dpm - as also mentioned in the instruction of the manufacturer.
