i honestly don't understand why you need anymore information than we have given you. we all use different torches and have stuck with the same for a lot of years, so can't possibly recommend your chosen torches when we have not used them .

i don't recommend anything that i know nothing about , if i did i'll be giving wrong info.
can't see what else can we offer you on this issue

I recommended the bulfinch torch (No3 torch head) coupled with a 47kg bottle of propane.

A post I added at around midday has vanished.... I'm guessing BAS must be a mod ? It was about hitting the "ignore" button for his posts which I'm doing now.

How about because I was asking about torches with the versatility of supporting different types of burner, and I haven't had much of that?

I don't have a chosen torch - that's why I've been asking.

That of course is the responsible thing to do.

NERRAD FIREJET 10 year guarantee hasn't let me down yet about £ 70 really pleaded with it ( but not a remote ) from plumbcenter
Does that have different nozzles/burners available?

Honestly - it beggars belief how much stick I got because I had that requirement, and because through no fault of mine the topic has lasted 3-4 days.

When I saw this original topic in the list I thought that it would be about the torches which give out light. So I did not read it but did wonder how it could go on for so long.

Not gas powered heating torches!

google is your friend ( don't think nerrad do different nozzles but others have given a few choices )

Is that an LPG torch?
Natural gas I think... ;)
Which is mostly methane when supplied - AFAIK, any propane and butane components present when natural gas comes put of the ground get removed so that they can be put into containers and sold to people to use in patio heaters, barbecues, blow torches, gas appliances in off-grid homes etc.

Natural gas has a much lower calorific value than propane or butane, and requires 2.5x as much oxygen for efficient combustion, so I'm not entirely happy that a torch designed for natural gas would be either effective or safe when fuelled by propane.

Given the emphasis on gas safety which is so fundamental to this forum, is everyone here happy that Gaswizard's advice is safe, and that a torch which as far as I can tell is meant to be used with acetylene (unless someone can point me to a page on Bullfinch's site which says otherwise) and which muggles says is meant for natural gas, would be OK to use with propane?

On the basis of what I've been told so far:

Maker - acetylene
Gaswizard - propane
Muggles - natural gas

They can't all be right.

Is anybody here mature and helpful enough to tell me which of those 3 sources is right, and if any are dangerous?

Yes, I can google for all sorts of info.

I was rather hoping that I could get some helpful advice here from people who know more about it than I do.

Was I foolish to think that?
