Hi all,

I have a worcester bosch combi boiler fitted about 3 years ago and ever since it was fitted it makes either 1 large bang or sometimes 3 bangs within about 2 seconds of a HOT tap being used. And its ONLY when a hot tap is used. Cold taps are fine.

The bangs sound like they come from close to a radiator in the lounge. I think its the furthest rad from the boiler.

The plumber came back and said couldnt find a problem, "sorry", and left.

Finally got round to google and saw shock arrestors - small and cheap. I cant readily see one fitted so thought it might help.

Should it be fitted on a HW pipe before or after the boiler?

P.s. im on a water meter.

Thanks

I had the same issue after having a new sink fitted and the plumber said it can happen sometimes and asked me to change the stop tap pressure by turning it up or down a bit, and it worked !

Only fitted a few Worcester’s but from memory your meant to fit shock arrestors on Worcester combis, shock arrestor should be fitted on the cold to the boiler

Thanks for the help.

Will look to fit arrestor on cold feed to boiler.
Will let you know if it works.
