Hi Guys & Gals

When my washing machine is on spin, the pipes bang & clatter from up in the loft to down in the basement. This has only recently happened & I can't seem to fathom out the problem.
Having read a lot of mails about noisy pipes, sounds like an air lock.

Any ideas please

could be the machine not level or wobbly and is physically knocking the pipes

I agree with twgas, check that the washing machine isn't touching any pipes, or that any pipes are clipped correctly behind the washer.

Thanks guys, but thats to easy. The washing machine is solid, there are two flexible pipes attached, the water in & the water out behind the machine & there is a gap all around, not touching any pipes.

It has got to be an air lock as only recently started making the banging noise. Doesn't do it when on wash or on fill, just on spin.
Can't understand why there are no previous posts on this particular subject, every other banging pipe scenario but mine.

Cheers

Did you find a solution? My boiler bangs during the washing machine spin. It only happens during the spin cycle. Washing machine downstairs not near any boiler pipe work . Boiler upstairs.

Have you had reason to turn your stoptap off recently ?
