Banging thermostatic shower valve

Hi folks,

Our thermostatic shower valve bangs quite loudly (about 2Hz). I presume it's because it's trying to get the temperature right?

Is there any way I can stop this, as it wakes the whole house up if I have a shower at night / first thing in the morning!

Sounds like it might be piped up wrong, if you can get to the piework behind it the hot should be on the left side.
If that's OK change the cartridge.
