Hi all,
I need to replace a Triton bar shower that runs directly off a combi boiler. It is a standard bar shower with a flexible hose and head on a riser. It has 150mm pipe centres and I don't want to mess with the pipework. I was going to swap for another Triton or something like a Mira Coda, but my better half asked whether it was possible to have a more powerful shower with a larger head 'like you get at a Premier Inn'.
I've looked at different bar showers but the flow rates don't seem to vary much and I wondered whether that is because the shower flow rate is less important that the water pressure and boiler capacity? The boiler is an ATAG IC Economiser 35 plus, which it says is capable of 16.1 l per min @35 deg C rise. I haven’t measured the pressure, but it seems pretty high – I don’t need to turn the existing shower on full.
Is there likely to be a real difference between makes and models? Are there ones that would fit on the existing pipework but have a higher flow rate?
As always, thanks in advance.
Darren
