Base for a pre-fabricated inspection chamber

I'm putting in a pre-fab manhole to replace a pipe bend where we've had a blockage and it is difficult to rod.

What should the base for the plastic manhole be? I wasn't sure if I need concrete, or a base of gravel, or straight onto the soil?

concrete.

once the base part of the i.c. is connected up you will need to fit one of the risers. you can then pack concrete around and under the base.

the single riser will help prevent concrete from getting into the pipe system whilst still allowing reasonable access.
