Hi. I am redoing my bathroom and as part of putting a shower over the bath I have removed some plasterbaord from the stud wall. I can easy replace this with more plasterboard, but wondering if something stronger or more waterproof would be better as a base for the wall tiles? I am thinking aqua panel or even OSB? Or just plasterboard and skim?

It is the wall above the bath that will have the shower on and will have pretty large (250 x 400 and 300 x 600) ceramic tiles on it. It will also have to take the weight of the shower head (one of these 'rain' type)

Thanks

aquapanel/hardie/wedi..etc 12.5mm backerboards.
follow m.i. for fixing.

Tile backer board as tictic suggests, better for large/heavy tiles anyway; use a decent flexible cement powder adhesive, not tub ready mix.
