Basin & Pedistal Fixing

Hi all i have a basin and pedistal that i am going to install, thu i have brand new tilles on the walls and the floor, is there a fixing compound that will enable me to fix the basin and pedistal to the floor and wall without screwing the items down, if you think that this is dumb please tell me and if it is ok what compound should i use.

yes thats dumb.

use a basin fixing kit or rawplugs/screws.

I have used white silicone only to fix the basin before.remember it still needs pedestal support.

lol ok thankyou both, i am not always dumb i was a pipe fitter welder for 30 years, but not done a bathroom before and someone in a plumbers shop said i could do it

Then I take my hat off to you Hairy arsed and no neck fitter If you can leave the basin unused for a day - silicone is fine . And if it needs holding against the wall , just wedge it or even hold it with strips of duct tape . Specially if it`s a basin with those small screw holes on an angle underneath

lol well i am a non hairy a---d pipe fitter lol, but will have a go at fixxing it tonight, and yes the screw holes on the basin are angled in at the worst position, but as i said with all my years of pipe fitting hundreds of large boiler rooms im sure i weill be able to cock it up just fine
