Bath mounted pull out shower - how to deal with drips?

I would like to fit a pull out shower to the edge of the bath (the kind where the hose retracts back inside the hole). However, I have been told that water can drip back down the hose and start to pool underneath the bathtub. Hansgrohe make something that fits under the bath and collects this water but unfortunately it is too big for me to use.

Does anyone have any experience of this or suggestions as to how to deal with it?
