My bidet has a control with 'rim' and 'spray' engraved on it.Turn clockwise for rim which makes the water run into the basin, Turn anticlockwise to spray which makes a jet of spray from the base of the basin. After some years of use the control now only allows water to run into the basin from both directions on the control, clockwise and anticlockwise. The spray does not work. Also when water is turned on into the basin there is a leak of water from the plastic pipe leading into the control behind the basin. Any advice would be appreciated.

Does anybody still use a bidet? I thought these were for French girls who didn't have a shower in their tiny Paris apartment!

Sounds like the valve is worn out - is there a manufacturer's name visible? Can you phone them or email a picture to them? They might do a refurb. kit.

Not at all, they're very handy for washing your **** and **** in. You can also use them to wash your feet or your baby.

I reckon the tap needs to come off for a strip down, clean up, lube and reassemble (or fit a new one). Probably it has washers and O-rings inside that need replacing.

have you checked out the new water regs re. ascending spray bidets lately  more trouble than they`re worth

they can only be used if from a seperate supply e.g cwst. cant by any means, by water regs, be used on a combi or any mains supply even with check valves
