Posted this in the your project section but probably be more relevant here...

Recently decorated bathroom with Zinsser perma-white satin. Finished up and was quietly chuffed with the job but other half isn't feeling the love and after a week of dropping hints has decided she wants a bit more colour in there.

I finished the tin of Zinsser and as it's quite expensive I was wondering if I could topcoat with a beige Dulux bathroom + instead? Was concerned the Zinsser might bleed through topcoat.

Anyone have experience of similar situation? Appreciate any info guys, cheers.

Why do you think it might bleed through to a different coat ? As long as its dry, a very gentle sanding and then two coats of your new colour should be ok.

Jeeze, Mod 11, give a newbie a break!

Hammy05 posted the original query in the wrong section and followed the advice of another member to post here instead - that hardly qualifies as duplicate posting, does it? :?

As Robbie uk says, there's no reason that it should bleed through any other paints once cured. I believe it shouldn't be washed or scrubbed for several days after application but as you have passed that time then you should be able to go ahead and give it that light sanding before recoating with your new colour...which your OH will probably still dislike!!

Thanks for the tips guys, much appreciated :)

Just wasn't sure how friendly the Zinsser was with regard to a different topcoat but advice noted and will crack on!

And yep, here's hoping the new colour gets the appropriate approval
