when the rewiring was done, the bathroom was wired for an extractor.

What size should be in the bathroom, 100mm or 150mm?

I was thinking of buying a 150mm as its bigger and can extract more

????????

As big as will fit and you're prepared to pay for.

Not so big though that it stops you shutting the door, and pins animals and small children to the wall....

There's no hole through the wall yet, right?

what size is the duct?

what size is the bathroom?

Do you have showers or baths?

How many people use the bathroom?

theres a hole 9x6" already

a 150mm with humistat was only £40 or so

bathroom is not big, about 8ft x 10ft.

will be 1 shower cubicle and a bath with shower above

4-5 people will use it

then get a 150mm

But also look at centrifugal extractors, they are quieter and more powerful.

Some fans are flush-mounting and may fit into that hole.

Is it directly above a bath or shower?

£40 with humidity sensor sounds cheap. where from?

So you'll need a fan at least 11 x 8, say, to be able to cover that hole, unless you want to start filling it in.

Why is it so big?

The hole will be filled, the room in still at backing plaster.

I think there was a air vent there before hence the hole.

I was thinking of buying a 150mm pipe from B&Q and curtting it to size to fit in the hole, and cement around it.

Sounds like a plan.

Angle it slightly downwards, and don't forget the louvres on the outside end...

where did you see the £40 humidy fan? sounds like a bargain. I know somebody who wants one.
