bathroom fan but bust timer

hi there can anybody tell me if i can get a timer out of an old busted fan i.e the pcb and change it with a newish fan but busted timer although the timer pcb are completely different???? to me i dont think it would make any different. incomming 3 wires l,n.sw output 2 wires going to fan. thanks

doubtfull it will work, you have to get both timers out and in without breaking them, and then find out they are not compatable.

Try it and see

I wouldnt bother with the timer, as you found out, they dont last that long

no problem geting them out as they slide out easily in fact i have the timer already out of the fan of the old unit. its a simple three wires in two wire out to the fan motor.

Per above, suck it and see. It should work if the fans are both 230V and of similar power rating.
