Hi

I am replacing my bathroom ceiling so am taking the oppotunity to add a light to a wall, just over a mirror, that I want to become active when the light and fan cord is pulled. The mirror light will also have a pull cord of it's own.

I presently have:

A main light
A fan (not a timer)
A pullcord
one cable in and one coming out of the bathroom.
I haven't pulled off the ceiling yet so not sure what's under there.

Could you show me a diagram of where to add the mirror light? I am thinking I need to spur off a junction box from the 'in' cable before the connection to the main light?

Sorry if this is a bit basic, cheers for your help.

You need to take a switched live, neutral and earth from the existing fitting (be it a ceiling rose, fitting with integral loop terminals or a JB feeding a fitting) to supply the new light. Tapping off the incoming cable to the bathroom will most likely result in your light being permenantly powered and not switched by the pullcord.
