Bathroom Fan - Wiring

Hi

I am replacing an old extractor fan in the bathroom which comes on when the bathroom light is switched on.

I now have four wires: brown, blue, white and green/yellow which powered the original fan - however the new fan only has space for two wires, L (live) and N (Neutral).

Can you tell me how to wire the new fan????????

Probably a timer fan so will have switched live from light and a perm live for timer neutral and earth
without meter prob brown switch live white perm live blue neutral and green/yellow earth but check first or get someone who knows to check.

Thanks Tony - you are correct it is a timer fan.

Nothing on the exisitng connection gives indication as to what the blue and white are, i.e. neutral or perm so perhaps using the connector block I can trial and error it!!!

or just check in the light fitting, i take it you'll just be using the switched live, neutral and earth in which case stick the permanent live in a terminal block.
