bathroom light cord gone stiff

was in the house when we bought it, think its from argos looks like this one.

cord seems to have gone stiff when turning on/off - wasnt working now back working after playing with it just stiff any thoughts....

could be the cord is snagging inside the fitting, or the switch is on its way out.

Go and buy a new switch.

Swap it at a convenient time, or keep it safe in case the installed one packs up altogether, at which point you won't end up with no lights until you've gone and bought one.

I presume its an internal switch?

If you can get access to it you can proberbly buy a replacment from somewhere like maplin/farnell which will fit if not be identically assuming your happy you are able to do the work. Otherwise the options include buying a new light fitting to swap the lot, or fit/havefitted an external pullcord to use inplace of the internal switch.

I presumed it was a light switch, not a switch in a light - I didn't bother to click a link to get what I thought would be info on a pull cord ceiling switch.

I'm sure you can buy those internal switches from B&Q, you could remove the fitting and take out the switch and then see if you can find a replacement.
It will no doubt be something like this (first one i found, there may be others) :-

Yeah, I was tha same on seeing the title and post but the latter suggestion makes more sense as to asking how to resolve it.
