Hi

Just brought a new build house and noticed that when either the hot water or central heating is on the bathroom rads come on, however if the HW is off they still come on when the CH is on.

The system is a Megaflow with TRV's fitted to all rads

I've spoken to the site manager as he reckons this is how its suppose to work.

Can somebody please advise how this works and if being heated by the HW circuit where does the flow return to as we fiited a water softener but were told not to use softened water to fill the CH system as it could damage the boiler.

Thanks

Nice to have dry towels in the summer months. .........................................nothing wrong with this set up unless you talk to the green party  , the flow pipe to radiators is 'teed' off before any auxilary controls ie: motor valves , how this works is whenever there is a call for HW/heating the circulating pump will supply bathroom radiator with heat............the other reason could be the installers used the bathroom radiators as a bypass circuit/heat sink ('S' plan)
