Bathroom Refurb / Low Pressure

We’re currently refurbishing our bathroom and were hoping someone could provide some advice in regards to the shower.

We’ve got a combi boiler, no water tank in the loft, and quite a low pressure of water at the moment in the current shower.

As I understand, we can’t put in a power shower as we have no water tank, so we’re looking to put in a standard mixer shower, as I think that’s we’ve got currently in place as well.

Are my assumptions about which type of shower to put in correct? We’re not particularly bothered about the downsides of the mixer shower being affected by other water usage in the house etc. Also, would anyone be able to recommend specific mixer showers?

What pressure/flow rate do you have at the moment?
Modern shower valves incorporate non return valves and have small waterways which restrict the flow.

Off the top of my head, the Mira Excel gives excellent flow rates. I recommend them all the time. Watch out for the foreign branded stuff that is available - even if they are for use with a combi; they can be very restictive and bottleneck flow.

agree with grrinc. If I ever fit showers I always fit the Mira Excel. Not the cheapest but very good

Thanks for the suggestions, I've had a look at the Mira range, and was wondering what the opinion is on the Mira Extra shower rather than the Excel? This would be in a shower where the pressure is quite low.

Pete, I'm not sure how low the pressure is exactly, would it be worth finding this out, and if so, is there an easy of doing that?
