I am embarking on a bathroom renovation, but have some questions about electrics in the bathroom.

I have an electric shaver socket in the room already, my plan is to remove the shaver socket, re-route the cable and have it power a mirror and a permanent toothbrush charger.

I am assuming this is notifiable? So I will have to get an electrician.

It appears the shaver socket is running off the lighting circuit, is this normal? If so would my idea of using that cable to power a mirror and a toothbrush charger work or would the electrician need to run a second cable?

Only if within 600mm. of the edge of a bath or shower.

Unless competent to do yourself with necessary test equipment, so - yes?
