I have bought 3 spotlights for my bathroom (IP65 rated), and would like to know the most appropriate way of wiring them in. I have existing wiring and pullcord switch in place from the old (single) bathroom light. I have bought a transformer for each light.

Can I do the following:

- terminate the existing wiring from the old light on a plastic connector block (the type you cut to size with a stanley knife), and then have 3 "spurs" running from this, one to each transformer?

OR

- do I need 3 junction boxes, and wire each light in turn

OR

- neither of the above

In addition, do I need to use a specific type of cable? i.e. can I use the type usually found on lamps/TVs etc, or do I need to use grey mains cable.

Apologies for the ignorant questions. To alleviate people's fears over my competance, I'm going to have the whole thing checked over by a spark friend of mine when I've done it :D

terminate the original ceiling rose connections in a junction box in the loft. from here, run cable to each transformer in turn. At the first and second Tx, you may need a junction box, depending on the type / quality of tx you bought.
