Hi,

Before calling out the pro's I wanted to check for anything really obvious with our current issue. In our bathroom the extractor fan and 2 ceiling lights are not working:
  • All 3 have a separate pull cord switch but must be on the same supply.
  • They used to work independently of each other (ie the fan is not activated by lights etc)
  • There are no tripped fuses or RCDs anywhere in the house. A visual check confirms that no wires have come loose in switches or fan / light fittings
  • The issue started when the fan was running and 1 light was on, when the light was turned off the fan also shut down and now none of them work

Any advice about where to check or look next would be much appreciated.

Or if the lighting circuit doesn't have an RCD in the consumer unit, there may be a separate RCD somewhere, such as in the loft, above the bathroom door, etc.
