Bathroom tap sound and drip

Where is the bathroom relative to the kitchen?

It seems a weird issue to me, but it must be caused by increased water pressure at the bathroom tap, and an inadequate valve or washer on the bathroom tap.

The kitchen is about 10 metres away from the bathroom on the same floor. It's a flat

It's a combo boiler in a one bedroom block of flats so the tank will be central

In that case we can expect the pressure of hot and cold to be the same.

Had they been different, a mixer tap would not have worked.

But if the OP has a basin with two holes in it and wants to fit a central mixer tap, the only option

Yup - fair point though what I did do once was use 2 taps on the basin holes running up to a central spout coming out of the wall, I must admit it was a farf to get right but did look excellent.

Mixer taps do work with cold and hot at different pressures. I have one working on HW supplied via a loft tank, and CW from the mains. It's just that you don't get equal mixing with the mixer control in its mid position. To get enough HW in the mix you need to move the control further over to the HW side. Not a big issue, though.
