Is it permissable to site the switch for a bathroom outside the bathroom. Is it also permissable to use a two-gang switch, one toggle controlling the light and the other the fan?

Another permissable. Assume you have two lighting circuits in a house. Is it permissable to use a two-gang switch with one toggle controlling the light on one circuit while the other controls the light on the other circuit?

Not quite sure what you are trying to do but this occurs quite a lot in hall ways where one switch is conttrolling the hall light (downstairs fuse) and the other switch controlling the landing light (upstairs fuse). Stric tly speaking this shouldnt happen but it does, a lot.

In this instance proper note should be made to state that both fuses need to be removed to properly isolate the switch.

from what i gather most people just have a single switch controlling the light and the fan, therefore once the light is switched on the fan also comes on.
But the fan does normally have an isolation switch above the door in a lot of cases.
